March 10th-14th, 2014
This year in March, the students Dana Žuravļova (Form 8) and Darja Kuzņecova (Form 11) went to Bulgaria together with the teachers Aija Keivomege and Aija Zeltiņa to represent our school in the international Comenius project “Save the Past, live the Present, Imagine the Future”. 8 schools from Turkey, Greece, Poland, Croatia, Romania, Latvia and Bulgaria participate in this project.
During the meeting the students told about natural sites and national parks which are protected in their countries. They were reading essays, made posters and proposed their own ways of natural environment protection. There was also organized a fashion show. The models were made of various recycled and ecological materials.
The participants visited the Ethnographic Museum, the ruins of Tsarevets fortress and the Wax Museum to learn better the history, culture and traditions of Bulgaria. Everyone had an opportunity not only to watch but also learn Bulgarian national dance and enjoy the taste of national cuisine.
The students learned a lot about the culture, traditions and natural diversity of partner countries, as well as developed and improved their communication and presentation skills.
